I mean, it is very common for men to sell their bodies in order to pay for their education. You ever heard of the military?

Not to rain on the parade but, that small piece caused a huge impact on Chris Farley and caused him to get diagnosed with depression. He always regretted doing it.

Please welcome Tiffany. She's only here because she can't pay for her student loans.
And you see a sad girl in a bikini.

"And you see a sad girl in a bikini."
Isnt that just all strippers?
71
u/Drudgework Jan 28 '23
Well, the lap dance is always better when the stripper is crying.

It’s even sadder that this happens after college, and it’s just to pay for the degree that failed to get them a job in the first place.

I mean, some do genuinely enjoy what they do lol.
22
u/Kraytory Jan 28 '23
Well, yeah. But i would say most of them at least aren't thrilled to go to work.

u/JasonSunleaf Jan 28 '23
Do you know obe personally? Or you just can't see through there fake smiles
6
u/Altar_Quest_Fan Jan 28 '23
So I don't know any strippers personally, however I am acquainted with several escorts. The majority said they preferred and enjoyed sex work over more mundane jobs like retail or being a waitress in a restaurant etc as it was more lucrative and overall way more fun/exciting for them. Cheers!

u/cpd222 Jan 28 '23
I know several personally, and most prefer their job to service industry jobs they have had

Are strippers really all that sad though? They are getting tons of attention and literal wads of money chucked at them. That's kind of an ego boost, no? Now, maybe an ugly, fat stripper that nobody looks at isn't going to feel all that great.

u/Gach0ka Jan 30 '23
if i was a stripper my happiness wouldn't be based in my career success but we're two ppl talking about situations we'll never be in so who knows

Stripper makes $800-2k per night. Makes those loans go bye-bye pretty fast
33
u/Chemgineered Jan 28 '23
And they get to go home with All of that?
59
u/optiongeek Jan 28 '23
That's take home. According to my source: $140 stage fee for the night, VIP dances have a 20% cover charge, but tips while dancing are 100% hers. This was for.a high quality club in SoCal.

Strippers are only making that much a night if they're doing extras in the private rooms.
Source: gfs ex best friend was a stripper in Chicago pre covid.

the wear and tear on the physical body + drugs because i know for a fact there are drugs are a huge negative in the wallet on top of the student loans and on the soul

I worked in clubs in Houston for a couple of years in my twenties. I am attractive but I didn’t have big fake breasts and the girls who did made money more easily. I did ok and only had to work a couple of weeks per month to pay bills and have money to spend.
Yes the girls who gave bjs or other extras probably made a bit more but all clubs get busted and most of those girls actually got caught so that’s a high price to pay getting prostitution on your record but also what it does to your self esteem. Those girls were a lot more likely to have drug problems.
I tended to drink a lot when I was working. Comes with the territory and makes it a bit more fun. Kind of like you’re at a big crazy party
There’s also the violence your more at risk for. Form strangers as well as people you know. It’s just a pretty shady lifestyle and most people don’t get involved in it beyond having a wild time with their buddies occasionally. So your generally left with a bunch of friends that are more losers than big achievers.
During that time practically all of my normal friends abandoned me. It’s a pretty lonely lifestyle and not very easy to overcome once you have chosen it.
And of course they money you actually make depends on several variables:
What days of the week you work; The type of clientele the club attracts; How many girls the managers allow to come in on a shift; Whether you work days or nights; How much you hustle vs how much time you waste drinking or hanging out; How attractive you are. How sexy your body really is; Whether you have regular customers who come in often; How good of a conversationalist you are/sense of humor; How far you’re willing to go And lastly whether or not you’re a theif. It wasn’t uncommon for girls to put fake charges on credit card tabs. Usually the guys were too drunk or naive to realize it was happening. The club tended to look the other way.

I'm reminded of way back in the 1990s the joke was that strippers were only doing it to put themselves through school/college/university. Seems we've come full circle.
20
u/notsumidiot2 Jan 28 '23
In the 80s I know women doing it. Where else can you make 2-3k in three nights. It leaves plenty of study time. Source: my friends sister. She bought a house too.

What do strippers and peanut butter have in common?: They both spread for bread
34
u/comehonortts Jan 27 '23
It's kind of sad knowing that people have to do things like this just to get a college education. Meanwhile boomers keep talking about how hard they had it and bootstraps and whatnot.

I’d rather pay for my own education than be saddled with 60-70% tax rates tbh. More money for me long term… but sure America bad lol

I was a sex worker who made $500 a person for sex. I prob did 20 guys in a month for $10k cash.
Not saying it’s easy/safe money. Just fast. (They nut fast and just wanna cuddle or spend time with me for my hour.)

I would have more respect for a woman doing that than asking for loan forgiveness.

u/who_said_I_am_an_emu Jan 28 '23
If I looked at your profile history will I find a single time that you complained about a corporation or a rich person declaring bankruptcy?
-7
u/-HypocrisyFighter- Jan 28 '23
Probably not. Does that mean it doesn't offend me if I haven't seen the post?
2
u/who_said_I_am_an_emu Jan 28 '23
It means what your priorities are. And I am not here to sort out your baggage. I don't know why you are okay with billionaires using bankruptcy as a tax dodge but can't stand the idea of a nurse getting a break. You sort it out.

They are using the law as written, right? They aren't ignoring the current laws and wishing they would rewrite them for their situation, right?

I used to work at a step club as a fry cook. I saw girls work for a month, and make enough to cover two semesters at the same university that I was then attending. If I could have worked as a dancer, I absolutely would've done the same thing.

Female college students, if you need money to pay for college, you can be an adult entertainer.
