Basically my guild died and I wanted to finish my Valanyr, so I started hosting some SR runs with fragments reserved. It was a complete disaster: loot drama, people saying that class doesn't need x items, people just alt f4-ing after their item doesnt drop, we were left with 20 people at yogg and couldn't even finish the raid, and it was a normal run. This happened twice.

After this I decided screw it I'm hosting GDKPs, well, everybody sticks in, very easy to replace people in case it happens cause new recruits just get the full cut, and we cleared algalon and almost all hms every time.

So what are we talking about? I think without bots Gdkps would still exist, but instead of selling things at 50k they would sell for 3-5, but this model of raiding is just too efficient.

And it is only there to stop RMT. I guess it's not considered RMT if it's bought from them directly instead of bots ? (/s)

Was anyone watching Mitch's stream just now where he got caught sending gold over to his character to buy a weapon/bags/skills? He got clowned off stream after showing his verification at 99.0% which typically means he had his addon off for some time. He somehow has bags he shouldn't have at his level. The chat literally trolled him into turning off his stream and he doubled down on saying he farmed it off stream lol. Even gaslighted his own viewers, then turned chat to sub mode after turning his stream off.

Roughly 2 weeks suspension for getting caught and rarely even getting the gold you bought revoked? It was and still is just simply worth it to eat the punishment and take a vacation.

If Blizzard had dished out permanent account bans for buying gold during late classic/early TBC, I have no doubt we would not be where we are today. The demand just would not be there.

Greetings fellow time traveling Azerothians,

I was under the impression that WoW classic meant strictly vanilla 60 WoW, but I recently found out about Wrath of the Lich King Classic through a random reddit ad (Gold had expired, what a fateful event), and immediately began having awe inspiring and massively euphoric flashbacks of the glory days back in High School.

You see, I didn't like WoW very much as a teenager, for almost over night, I had a few friends who stopped coming outside after it launched in Germany. Haven't seen some of them since, in fact. It wasn't until I moved to California and met my best friend, that I finally caved and began playing the week Ulduar launched back in 2008. I played for almost two years, until the day my best friend suddenly and tragically passed away. Got caught in a riptide down at the beach, went under, then panicked and suffered cardiac arrest. Neither I or the life guards were able to get there in time, he couldn't be resuscitated and the hospital immediately pronounced him. This was 13 years ago and I have not touched WoW since.

I've been playing now for exactly a month. It's beyond wonderful, though sometimes very somber and immensely overwhelming, emotionally. I'm level 62, making my way to Zangamarsh. I CAN'T WAIT to see Northrend and level the last stretch after I get cold weather flying, holy shit. It gets lonely, though.

Part of what made the original experience so special was having a friend by my side. It's not that I lack friends, IRL or on Discord. Problem is, they're either all too busy, hate WoW, play regular classic, or like retail too much to switch back. No one wants to play with me. I've attempted bribery and even wrongful imprisonment. Nothing has worked. I would love nothing more than to have someone, preferably above the age of 18 at least, ideally around my age (31), who would like to level with me and help me relive the kind of magic I have rarely experienced since those olden days.

Not sure what server I'm on at the moment, but I would not mind transferring or starting a new toon.

I wonder how much would players endure and how far would they get using NO addons at all. The exception would of course be the HC addon.

EDIT: Wow, a lot of defensive comments. I didn't mean to say addons are bad lol. Nor I think Vanilla is good without addons. I'm simply saying that it would be funny to see people play like ONE RUN without addons just for a different experience.

Probably a dumb question, but Im a retail andy. I joined Wrath Classic for Naxx before DF launched. Got my preraid bis from dungeons then got my BiS from raid in like 2-3 weeks with my guild.

The only gold I needed was for northrend flying, fast flying and fast flying mount. All together not more than like 15k gold with some consums and other expenses.

Why are people botting so much to farm and sell gold? What are the buyers using the gold for? What is the point?

Is it really only GDKP runs? If so, why dont you just join a raiding guild and clear normally? Why would you spend millions of gold for GDKP runs instead? Makes no sense. Ruins your fun from raiding and costs real money. I dont get it. Is it really only GDKP where all the gold from farmers goes? Seems weird.

Looking back at all events I saw taking place on Grob US (special shout-out to youtubers and streamers and especially Barny), I just wished we had a similar server on EU. As of now, not only is it the only pvp server with a balanced population (and as I love world pvp, this would make my experience much more enjoyable), but the community aspect of this server looks very enjoying, plus I am a RolePlayer at heart. I don't know how it really is on Grob but I wish I had the option to see by myself without paying for another account and playing with high ping.

I have no idea how this stuff works and if its possible but it would be cool:

A diary that you would fill out upon logout, that would then be added to the “archive” for everyone to read when your character dies. Maybe even with AI voiceover like in the quest addon (that I forgot the name of).

Think “failed arctic expedition captain’s logbook” kinda feeling.

Again, not sure if possible but that’s what I’d create if it was and If I had the knowledge to do so :)

From my understanding we could cap instances on one character and this wouldnt effect others?
