"Excuse me, can I just get my food real fast?"

u/brandeezycc2 Nov 26 '22 edited Nov 26 '22

Just wait a moment until after he’s arrested and the police will deliver it to you after they search his car.

Just like that other Door Dash driver who got arrested.

Edit: https://youtube.com/shorts/bOlSrq4jf04?feature=share

Apparently, there’s a number of these videos on YouTube.

u/DrugChemistry Nov 26 '22

Counting on the police to finish the food delivery is a fool’s bet.

Union rep will handle the rest.

As is tradition.

'Yes, we understand sir. Here are the three slices of pizza you ordered. Have a nice night!'

9

u/cookiebasket2 Nov 26 '22

I ordered a whole pizza?!?!

8

u/motor1_is_stopping Nov 26 '22

I would absolutely do this. He can work out his issues with the police. Here is your tip, thank you for my dinner. Hope your night gets better.

7

u/ddwood87 Nov 26 '22

Just act like the cops aren't there.

33

u/Soulforge411 Nov 26 '22

Came here to say that

13

u/horseband Nov 26 '22

My coworker did this. Uber eats driver pulled over in our company’s parking lot.

Coworker was “super hungry” and said they were going to just go ask for the food. Everyone told him not to and that it was a stupid idea, especially because the situation looked pretty heated.

He walks out there and the cop doesn’t hear him coming and he doesn’t say anything as he is walking up. He decided it would be a good idea to approach from directly behind the cop.

Coworker ends up tapping the cops shoulder. We all stood their jaw dropped at the stupidity of basically sneaking up to a cop who was in a heated situation with a driver and tapping his shoulder without him knowing you were there.

Cop spun around so fast, shoved him instinctively, ran to the back of the car for cover, and started screaming “GET ON THE GROUND NOW! GET ON THE FUCKING GROUND. HANDS BEHIND YOUR BACK ON THE GROUND”

After the situation calmed down, Coworker got yelled at for being stupid and told repeatedly to never approach a situation like that again. Ironically had they just waited like 30 seconds more the cop was almost done writing a warning to the Uber eats guy.

16

u/PhysicsCentrism Nov 26 '22

Can you imagine if any other profession was so quick to freak out?

If someone is close enough to tap you on the shoulder and all they do is tap you on the shoulder, most of the danger has already passed.

3

u/granoladeer Nov 26 '22

"That's evidence!"

4

u/Junspinar Nov 26 '22

Gets shot

2

u/oolaroux Nov 26 '22

Don't let the cops know it was from Dunkin Donuts!

u/NotXiJinpingGoUSA Nov 26 '22

Surprisingly no one has asked OP yet:

Did you get the food?

170

u/probablynotahobbit Nov 26 '22 edited Nov 26 '22

Yes, I was still warm and delicious

Edit: IT was still warm....damn

75

u/Dankboi01 Nov 26 '22

You were what?

37

u/RandomPrimary2004 Nov 26 '22

Im glad you were cozy

6

u/tjfoxx Nov 26 '22

The food or the body the cop left behind?

1

u/croud_control Nov 26 '22

You wouldn't happen to be called Lucky?

78

u/Psirocking Nov 26 '22

I had an Uber driver get pulled over like 300’ away from me. I was confused why he wasn’t moving on the map so I walked over and saw it.

73

u/SuperAwesome13 Nov 26 '22

just go up and be like can I get my stuff

Especially if you are black.

4

u/n3w4cc01_1nt Nov 26 '22

what if they used a hailstorm unit to intercept the order then deducted that the person who requested delivery was under the influence of marijuana so they figured they'd do a super troopers spectacle?

13

u/Tensor3 Nov 26 '22

Did you survive the stroke you just had there, bud?

28

u/AKchaos49 Nov 26 '22

30 minutes or less!

u/Purple-Blood9669 Nov 26 '22 edited Nov 26 '22

Free Pizza! Edit- is that even a thing anymore? I don't think it is...

25

u/drdisney Nov 26 '22

Domino's used to have it, but they got rid of it when a few of the drivers killed a few pedestrians by trying to get the pizza delivered quickly.

It's the same reason why Jimmy John's ditched their freakishly fast delivery slogan. Too many accidents by drivers trying to rush the delivery.

3

u/coffeebribesaccepted Nov 26 '22

Jimmy John's still uses "freaky fast" branding

2

u/PrettyWitty_ Nov 26 '22

This made me laugh out loud

2

u/AKchaos49 Nov 26 '22

Glad to be of service.

Was once working a shift in the ED at Charlotte Maxeke in Johannesburg and one of the doctors was getting angry because it was a busy night, he'd ordered Nandos about 4 hours ago and there was no sign of it. Properly hangry this guy.

Anyway, in pulls an ambulance with the delivery dude on it, guy got taken out by a car about 2 blocks from the hospital. Not too badly hurt, mainly soft tissue. But the look on the doctor's face when they told him his food was left on scene with the motorcycle was heartbreaking.

23

u/probablynotahobbit Nov 26 '22

Update for those who were wondering. He got towed, and left in the tow truck so maybe he just wasn't registered and they couldn't let him drive away? Idk. We did get the food though, about half an hour later. It was still warm and tasty! We tipped him in the app and gathered a bunch of cash to add to it because he looked like he was having a shitty day.

3

u/JonnyBit Nov 26 '22

Props to you OP!

2

u/LoddaLadles Nov 26 '22

Poor chap. That's very kind of you, I hope things got better for him :(

Off-topic, but I really like your living room window. I'll bet your living room is beautifully lit up during the day!

24

u/xoverthirtyx Nov 26 '22

Were you trying to be discreet? Lol

28

u/fistymcbuttpuncher Nov 26 '22

Delivery drivers are(or were, back when I was in the game) very lucrative targets for shady cops. They carry cash tips with no paper trail, so no proof they had it in the first place. My bro got shookdown a couple times back when he drove for papa johns.

19

u/VenoratheBarbarian Nov 26 '22

Damn, now the time I got stopped in a bad neighborhood while delivering because the cop wanted to know "Why you're driving so slow." Is way scarier. I had a fucking lit-up topper on my car so I thought he was just a moron. Now I wonder if I got lucky by being incredibly boring.

In his minor defense, I had actually been "following him" (going the same direction, and behind him) at a slow speed for a minute cuz my GPS fucked up and that area was kinda known for throwing addresses around at random, so maybe I made him a tad paranoid.

I, too, was finally stopped directly in front of my customers house. But I just explained I was looking for the address and they went on their way. Freaked out my customer tho.

2

u/Ok_Television_9348 Nov 26 '22

Nowadays, everyone tips in the app. The last time I gave cash to a delivery guy, I was using a Nokia. …damn, I’m old.

1

u/Darryl_Lict Nov 27 '22

I always tip my Uber driver in cash. I figure he doesn't have to report it and Uber can't steal any portion of it. I've only gotten a 4 rating once.

19

u/Rob-Riggle-SWGOAT Nov 26 '22

Man, your dealer got busted that close to home. Had they already made the drop?

39

u/1320Fastback Nov 26 '22

Hopefully your food doesn't end up shot.

4

u/Cthulu95666 Nov 26 '22

As long as it’s not soul food

8

u/jdooley99 Nov 26 '22

We're you planning on opening the door wearing black gloves and shirtless?

3

u/theveryrealreal Nov 26 '22

Most services have drop off option now. You don't really have to greet them, but if you do they are not typically expecting high fashion to greet them.

2

u/majestic_failure Nov 26 '22

You'd be surprised man.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '22

Were they delivering donuts?

9

u/n3w4cc01_1nt Nov 26 '22

OFFICERS VIOLENTLY DRAW WEAPONS

PLACE THE FRICKEN TENDIES ON THE HOOD!

driver calmly explains they chik'n

IT DOESN'T MATTER CIVILIAN!

2

u/GoddessLeggyLivia Nov 26 '22

Did you get your delivery?

2

u/Miqous Nov 26 '22

The food was getting cold he had to, but he got caught

2

u/risky_bisket Nov 26 '22

That looks like South Eastern Connecticut

2

u/ccisnee Nov 26 '22

Lmfao this has happened to me before

2

u/Boris9397 Nov 26 '22

Was he delivering cocaine?

2

u/FreshSchmoooooock Nov 26 '22

Why are you naked? You freshly baked?

That cat though :D

2

u/Starrlaaaa Nov 26 '22

That sucks 😂

2

u/greedisboring Nov 27 '22

one night dashing, i got tailed by these cops for literally around 25minutes. They followed me from one drop off to the next, waiting in the drive they parking lot until i left, followed me to the next house. They parked on the opposite side of the street a little ways down, so their headlights were blinding me. Like an idiot i didn't see they parked at a dead end, so i thought i'd drive past them, well i ended up having to turn around RIGHT next to them lmao.

Followed me out of the neighborhood, back onto the street and a ways down until i turned into burger king (another order) and they finally kept driving. Dude i was shitting my pants the ENTIRE time though i knew i had done nothing wrong lol.

5

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '22

fuck the fact he got pulled over, why ain’t u wearing a shirt?

2

u/spootypuff Nov 26 '22

They don’t call it fast food for nothing

1

u/DirtyProtest Nov 26 '22

Your reflection.

Are you naked or wearing a fat suit?

1

u/roxinbound Nov 26 '22

Dang guessing it wasn't still warm either.

1

u/ConsciousPlantain977 Nov 26 '22

Cop: Son what's in the Wendy's bag? It smells like Sumin???

1

u/Old_Passage_5670 Nov 26 '22

Almost my freedom!!

1

u/3_gloves Nov 26 '22

Well, wow I gotta say that is very mildly interesting.

1

u/jeerabiscuit Nov 26 '22

What was the charge!

1

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '22

So close, yet so far away.

1

u/fo55iln00b Nov 26 '22

Supreme effort made hope you gave him 5 stars

1

u/Old_Passage_5670 Nov 26 '22

I would go get my food no doubt while drinking!!

1

u/malkumecks Nov 26 '22

Are you wearing a bra? Looks like a strap from a too small bra on your shoulder

1

u/LegendRagnar369 Nov 26 '22

They wanted a slice 🤣

1

u/AwkwardPregame Nov 26 '22

This happens often when I order Dunkin Donuts for some reason

1

u/Dusteronly Nov 26 '22

What was he delivering?

1

u/toastebagell1 Nov 26 '22

Imagine being the driver. Just trying to make ends meet and deliver someone’s stupid food because they are to lazy to get it themselves and you get pulled over for something menial. Why even post this. It’s not mildly interesting at all.

1

u/TFarrey Nov 26 '22

I hope your tip was generous

1

u/CrimeCoder Nov 26 '22

Reason #45 why I would never deliver food. That ticket just washed out all his wages for the night and probably a few other days.

1

u/Realistic_Truck Nov 26 '22

Hand over the doughnuts.

1

u/Mango_Weasel Nov 26 '22

My delivery driver backed into another car while I was waiting for the food. Guy who owned the car was a dick so I didn’t say anything.

1

u/redyankeerose Nov 26 '22

Cat tax, please

1

u/IusedtoloveStarWars Nov 26 '22

Really wanted to earn that 4 dollar tip you were going to “forget” to give him.

1

u/bubbablanks10 Nov 27 '22

That’s gotta fucking suck. All of your time you spent working gone instantly by the police getting their quota.

1

u/OnyxSpic3 Dec 01 '22

WOW‼️TALK ABOUT HAVING GREAT SERVICE 😶

-3

u/Eagleclan_7 Nov 26 '22

Ironic if your food has berries and cherries.

-5

u/Blackdog4u2c Nov 26 '22

Idiot cops 👮‍♀️

-3

u/zacharoni16 Nov 26 '22

You can give the pizza driver a tip "don't do that again"
